Harris is the President of Race-West Company, Philip G. Ball Company, and Sparky’s Transportation Corporation. He has been in the produce business since the summer of 1971, when he began working with his father, Philip Cutler, at the age of 15. Harris’ initial duty at Race-West was tracking the availability of rail cars for shipping potatoes and onions throughout the United States. Harris did extensive work on railroad claims and legal issues with the railroads from 1972 to 1974. Furthermore, he worked in the produce industry through high school and began full time his junior year in college, working from his apartment and taking night classes. Harris graduated from Temple University in 1978 with a degree in business management, majoring in marketing and business law.

Harris and his wonderful wife, Janice, have five magnificent children, all of whom are involved in the family business. His family is the most important and most enjoyable part of his busy life. Harris has been involved in numerous community service activities, both within the industry and his community in Northeastern Pennsylvania. Harris currently serves as the Secretary of the Jewish Community Center in Scranton, the Foundation for the Jewish Elderly in Northeastern Pennsylvania, and is on the executive board of the Jewish Home, a nursing home in Scranton.

Harris’ passions include helping his colleagues, training and mentoring great produce talents, and serving the young and elderly. He takes great pride in the tremendous success enjoyed by his fellow employees and family members. The produce business has allowed Harris numerous opportunities to visit agricultural production and distribution areas all over the country and around the world.
